My question is did you just see him because it might be more of the case that his kid lives in the area and he is here to visit.

Those vets from Bingham's AA days are older than dirt at this point.

Honestly I am suprised Tifu didn't head to Allen with Martinson. I have to imagine he gets some of the old band back together.

I would bet they are waiting to announce people until they get a new PR/Radio guy signed. You can't do everything yourself.

Do you think some of the guys last year didn't make sure to get Rivet's number and give them theirs? Hockey is all about who you know and if guys can use connections to get a job they are going to.

No I didn't see him around town. I haven't been around all week, i've been at one of your buddies lake houses. But a friend of mine spotted Chaz in the mall yesterday. Apparently he is friends with him on Facebook and just mentioned to him that he had seen him in the mall while pssing through. They got to talking for a bit apparently and he told him he was coming back. I'm not a guy to mingle with the players, I leave them be, they are lower end celebs. They don't want to be bothered by the fans.

This article says Tifu had no other offers:

http://readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id=397337

Quote:"There was no way I was going anywhere," Tifu said Wednesday. "I didn't listen to any offers. I won't lie. I didn't have any other offers. I'm pretty sure other teams knew too."

I'm calling shenanigans on the last part. For a guy thats played in so many destinations. Personally he looked dreadful last year. He looked old and slow and definitely lost a step or two. The only vibe I got out of him was like he had some vandetta against the team or fans. Like he was wronged or something.

Any idea if they will even hire a radio guy? Shoot we just seem so far behind the 8 ball. We might not even have a GM soon if that Williamsport thing comes through.

I suppose but Rivet was pretty adiment he was retiring all year until very recently so I could see them just saying forget it.

My buddy's lake house? No idea who you are talking about. I have no friends with lake houses. They interviewed at least 5 (or 9 I can't remember) people from what I have heard and are just wainting to announce the hiring. I don't think anything is as it seems so I wouldn't get all butt hurt that things are behind. I hope the Williamsport thing doesn't come off just means a better chance of having lower level hockey.

Thought you said you knew someone I was related to. Thought he was a buddy of yours, my bad. Anybody good? Anybody thats established themselves at this or the AHL level? Some new guy we've never heard of before like usual? What do you mean by you don't think anything is as it seems? You don't want the FHL? I thought some of you guys wouldn'ty mind lower hockey? What does Williamsport going there have anything to do with us? So is Huffnagel still employed at the arena or whats the deal? Kinda late in the game here. If he does leave as rumored then we could be in a bind.

I know a bunch of people you are related to. I am not sure I would say I am buddies with any of them. I don't know exactly who got interviewed and at this level I am not sure what good it would do in any situation. As for things aren't what they seem I think there are a couple suprises as far as guys being signed that might make people extremely happy. Also I don't know about anybody else but I have heard who our affiliateS might be this year. When the hell have I ever said I wanted the FHL? I like to watch fights in the context of the game but not some of the garbage that goes on in that league not to mention it is run worse than the old CoHL/UHL/IHL2 league. I think with another team in the FHL that close to us it could spark us eventually getting tied to them because of saving money down the road if this thing with Afr continues to deteriorate. Matt is still very much employed at the arena which is good for the area because he at least has some integrity and ties here and to my knowledge him leaving is just that, a rumor.

Guys returning??? That is a foreign concept here. I hope one of them is Mr. Rivet but I have a lot of doubts. My initial thoughts and guesses would be like a Radja but I fully expect him and Bellamy to re-land in the AHL. As long as Mario isn't one of the guy you are right, I should be pretty happy.

Speaking of affiliates I see one of our rivals got better today. Affiliated with Hershey. Maybe we can take Toronto and Boston off their hands! As for affiliations i've heard whispers of Buffalo but I pray we don't join that horrendous mickey mouse organization.

I can't see Afr joining some joke like the FHL. I ran into someone a few weeks ago who was telling me that the arena file hasn't made it off their desk since like the holidays. The guy handling the issue probably shouldn't be. Also that the county is in a worse position now then when they started this pursuit. I didn't beg for details but it sure sounded to me reading between the lines that in a year Afr is probably going to end up getting this joint back outright like before. A guy around town has connections to the FHL office and all that good stuff. He told me that Afr wasn't the one who applied to the FHL bringing them to town to scope out the place. Also that they were decieved on things and were unaware of what was really going on. I guess he filled them in on what they didn't know, which was a great deal.

As I said before I truly hate the guy, he might as well be a mobster to me. But he did bring us a team and an arena that nobody else would. While I agree the operation has been scummy and a lot of things have been done wrong. Other then the Florio year he has tried to buy us a winner. For 10 out of 13 years we have made the playoffs. Just finally want that Championship!

This came out tonight:

Nothing new. But it's now official anyway. The Jackals are worth $8 million a year?

RE: Jackals Qualifying Offers
Read harder it was the community's initial investment in the arena was $8 million.

To me Bellamy is just not an AHL guy. He was a 3rd round pick who got a contract and played it out to go over to the EIHL and come nack and be a AA hockey player. I think his role as a third line grinder who can score is a perfect spot for him. He needs a tough guy so he can really run around. He was at his most effective when Kevin Harvey was here and in the playoffs where there is no fighting. I would really like Radja but I think he will at least get a camp invite with either Bingo or somebody else.

I agree Reading got better IF they spend the money like SC did so they can get GOOD prospects. I wouldn't want the B's or Leafs prospects
http://www.hockeyprospectus.com/article....cleid=1347
I wouldn't mind the Sabres as an affiliate with all of the Sabres fans around here. Extra fans who come to see their prospects is okay by me.

I can see Afr joing the FHL to try to screw over the area. Made it off WHO'S desk? I find it hard to believe the county is in a worse position after the first part of the lawsuit was dismissed. I think the oversight the county is now afforded is going to make them the taskmaster when it comes to bills being paid, the place being clean and things getting fixed. If not then bye bye arena. I love how you used chuck's posts on http://www.ielmira.com to substantiate him telling you something.

Just as in seasons past you play tough on Afr and then make it sound like a championship will change everything and then as the season progresses you bash the team and alienate yourself and the board turns into a gong show.

RE: Jackals Qualifying Offers
I hope not Buffalo. I can't see fans coming over prospects, most of these guys are AHL @ best careers. I think we have more NY Rangers and NY Giants fans ariound here than Bills/Sabres fans. Wouldnt mind a NYR affiliation. Their affiliates do well.

Agan's. Afr is a SMART businessman. I'm not saying ethical but on that side I could care less, he doesn't owe me a dime. Sponsors on the other hand may be looking for some cash....vendors too. It's too bad once upon a time all the big heads in the county that were used to have season seats. Now since season 5 started they no longer exist. For him being a smart businessman I think he knows the FHL would be a but and I could see him pulling the plug before stooping that low. This agreementr if anything makes Afr look good in the courts and what not if he follows through. All he is showing them is he can do it, this may backfire for them(a personal opinion) He's not going to go all out and do anything but minimal repairs(operating fire alarms, etc) No big noticeable changes.

I'm not going to stick this whole mess his way. I still think a certain former two were a part of the problem. Anybody notice they same attendance baloney has made it's way over to Dunn Field this season?? No way are they selling 3,000-4,000 real tickets foir that joke league. I noticed this season it finally toned down around us. I swear the prior 3-4 years every game the seats around us would be filled by some of the scummiest looking people i've ever seen. People who looked total redneck. If you know anything about rednecks they aint loaded with cash. I think last years attendance was more telling of what the past few years would have looked like.

You know Chuck? Nice fellow. Says he knowqs FHL Commish Kinman well or decent. Said he's never had an issue with him. I think the guys a little shady. Letrs his daughter own a team and then takes her side when theres bad weather and what not and the team refused to go on the road trip and they were all suspended and replaced except for a couple.

A championship is the ultimate goal. Yeah Afr is a crook to some degree, but he doesn't owe me money so I don't care much about that. The guy tries to ice a competitive team. I think as a fan I have the right to bash when things don't go well, so do you and all other board members. It's funny to talk about alienation when you have stated you don't care if the folks here like you or not. Yeah I have high expectations and nothing else is like winning. Excuse me....

RE: Jackals Qualifying Offers
I would be very careful dirting Steve Agan. Your argument about how the agreement makes Afr look good makes no sense. If he makes good and spends the $500,000 or more that is needed to get things remotely close to right I would bet the ice melts opening night and the devil comes right up thru the concrete. If the ice plant fails with the numerous band aids over the last 12 years he is on the hook big time. If the team sucks he is screwed because nobody will be here. If there is an inkling that things aren't being paid I would bet you can say goodbye. As far as wanting to blame Don and Robbie I think it would be in your best interest to drive over there on a game night and check out the cars. I was pretty suprised at what they are doing. I think it is great I just wonder if they can keep it up. I hope they can it is good for the community. On attendance I know there group sales were thru the roof the last couple years. How they do it is their business as long as people come and eat, drink and spend money they are better off for it. I find it interesting how much you bang on rednecks becaue I doubt you would step up and disparage them like that in person. I do not know chuck personally but I do know that you got all of that info off of ielmira. Thank you for explaining that a championship is the ultimate goal I figured it was just to sit there and ring a little cow bell. I just think it is interesting how you seem to fall off your meds as the season wears on. At one point you seemed to have gotten the concept of having a nice place to talk actual hockey and then pow uberdouche. It sucks because there used to be a lot of good people who had interesting things to add about the team and the game on here and since you started acting as said uberdouche the numbers here have dipped greatly. It is too bad because at times you seem like you could add good commentary and then you go so far overboard that it just isn't worth the agitation coming here.

RE: Jackals Qualifying Offers
I wasnt dirting the guy, you asked for the name, I just said a name was all and that the arena file still hasnt left his desk. I was gunna say I didn't want to name drop the guy but I figured you would have wanted it said eventually so I gave in to myself on that one. I highly doubt the county reads what we say. Probably don't even know this site exists. Your Internet Hellmira forum though is a different story and those people dirt on people like schumer all the time. I concede on the ice plant but I still don't see him springing for new equipment. The team not sucking is somewhat out of his hands. He cant control results. I probably would, like acting ghetto it is a choice. It's not like being a minority, straight or not straight(though I still don't necessarily agree thats not a choice) It's something you can help from being. Didn't know you read that site. There was some interesting stuff on the hockey thread, what was true or not is another thing. You're welcome! Sitting there and ringing a cow bell just adds to the fun and experience but losing isnt fun. We have never had a bad team that was entertaining to watch(and yesa thats possible) I don't take medication. I'm not the full blame, some guys like Top Jimmy for example claimed to have retired before I even came along. Plus the site did fgo over a makeover. Who knows how many have dropped off just from that?
