Richmond was tied to the NPHL anomaly, but nothing beyond that--not sure if that might lead to a team in an actual league, though the people on their FB page seem to be iffy on anything lower than the ECHL.

For whatever reason there is always chatter about Richmond, the loudest was FHL but that seemed to quiet down a little. Also there was talk of a ECHL team looking into the arena if they had to relocate.

we'd put the welcome mat out for any ECHL team that wanted to relocate to Richmond. It would be great to be able to watch some good hockey again in the RVA.

If the ECHL will be back it won't be this season now, It appears the Elmira situation is just stable enough now that they are for sure playing there.

ECHL won't be coming to Richmond as long as the Coliseum is their only option. If they ever get the plan to build a new arena off the ground, it's more likely they will end up with a team in the AHL.
