Prescott Valley, AZ - The 2008 Central Hockey League Ray Miron President's Cup Champion Arizona Sundogs announced today that NHL parent club the Phoenix Coyotes has reassigned goaltender Joel Gistedt from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) to the Sundogs.

Gistedt, 20, appeared in the second contest of a two-game series between Coyotes and LA Kings rookies on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, making 32 saves en route to a 3-0 shutout victory in his first game on an NHL surface. On Saturday, Oct. 4, after being reassigned by the Coyotes to triple-A affiliate San Antonio, Gistedt helped the Rampage to a 4-1 preseason win over the Houston Aeros, playing the final 30:26 and stopping all nine shots faced.

The native of Uddevalla, Sweden played in 11 games for Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League (SEL) in 2007-08, posting a record of 4-4-3 and a 3.36 goals against average (GAA). A second round draft pick (36th overall) of the Coyotes in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Gistedt also appeared in five games for Frolunda in the Under-20 league, finishing with a 5-0-0 record and a 1.38 GAA.

In other roster moves, the Sundogs have released forward Chip Dunleavy and defenseman Rusty Roe.
