Princeton, NJ - Bakersfield Condors rookie Dan Sexton is the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 16-22.
The 22 year old had five goals and nine points in four games to help Bakersfield go 4-0-0 to improve to 12-6-0 and first place in the Pacific Division.
After registering three assists in a 6-2 win against Alaska on Nov. 20, Sexton scored his first career hat trick in a 7-4 win against the Aces on Nov. 21 and closed out the week scoring the game-winning goal and three points (2g-1a) in a 4-2 win on Nov. 22.
He has scored a shorthand goal in each of his last two games and has a three-game point streak (5g-4a). In his first 18 games he has 10 multiple-point games, three multiple-goal games and three multiple-assist games.
Under contract to Anaheim of the National Hockey League, Sexton leads league rookies and ranks second overall with 13 goals while his 13 assists are second among rookies. He has 26 points which ranks him second among rookies and fourth overall.
He played the last two seasons at Bowling Green State University where he had 60 points (24g-36a) and 62 penalty minutes in 76 games.
On behalf of Dan Sexton, a case of pucks will be donated to a Bakersfield youth hockey organization by Sher-wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-wood Hockey has donated more than 23,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
