Bridgeport, CT - The New York Islanders have recalled defenseman Dustin Kohn from their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the team announced Thursday. Kohn is expected to make his NHL debut Thursday night when the Islanders host the Florida Panthers.

A second-round draft choice by the Islanders in 2005, Kohn has recorded two goals and 15 assists in 44 games for Bridgeport this season. The 22-year-old native of Edmonton, Alta., has already matched his career high for points and set a new personal mark for assists in a season.

Kohn participated in the AHL All-Star Classic this week in Portland, Maine. He finished third in the fastest skater event at the skills competition and helped the Canadian All-Star squad to a 10-9 shootout victory over the Planet USA All-Stars.
