Cyclones To Hold Open Tryouts

Cincinnati, OH - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this afternoon they will host an open tryout for free agents August 15-17. Two participants from the free agent camp will be invited to the club's training camp in October.

The free agent camp will take place at SportsPlus (10765 Reading Rd., Evendale) and will allow players an opportunity to display their skills in front of a panel of evaluators and coaches from the Cyclones organization. The cost is $150 per player and participants must be 20 years of age or older and able to provide their own equipment with mandatory visors.

The camp begins on Friday, August 15 at 6pm with a check-in period for prospective players. Instructions and an introduction from the coaching staff will occur at 7pm and an on-ice practice will begin promptly at 8pm. The rest of the weekend's schedule will be set at a later date. Housing is available for players needing it. Cyclones assistant coach Dean Stork is coordinating the camp and individuals needing additional information are encouraged to contact him at 513-421-7825, x. 351 or by email at: dstork@usbankarena.com.

The defending Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones start the 2008-09 season on Friday, October 17 at Wheeling at 7pm. The Cyclones will have a special banner ceremony celebrating the championship in the home opener at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30pm versus Dayton.
