Columbus, GA - The Columbus Cottonmouths have re-signed Ian Vigier, last season's SPHL all-rookie goaltender, for the 2008-09 season. He will join Chad Rycroft, the 2006-07 SPHL goaltender of the year, to give the Snakes an accomplished goaltending tandem for the upcoming season.

Vigier came to the Snakes last year, putting up impressive numbers in his first professional season. He started the season on a strong note with three consecutive wins, including a shutout in just his second professional game.

In 31 regular season games played, Vigier posted a 13-12-4 regular season record, finishing fifth in the league among goaltenders with a 3.19 Goals Against Average and .917 save percentage. For his efforts, he was one of six players in the league named to the all-rookie team.

"I am just elated to have two number-one goalies with Ian and Chad," head coach Jerome Bechard said. "Ian really came in last year and proved himself as a number-one goalie, and to have Ian and Chad both here pushing each other couldn't be better for the Columbus Cottonmouths. We will have a chance to win every game this year because both of these guys are capable of stealing games for you."
