Rome, NY - The Copper City Chiefs of the newly formed Eastern Professional Hockey League ( EPHL ) have hired their first head coach, signing Central NY native Mike Beavis to a two-year contract.

Chiefs owner Wayne Premo is very upbeat about having Beavis on board, with his almost 30 years coaching experience up thru the Junior Hockey ranks in both the U.S. and Canada as well as being well connected in the sport we feel he will have no problem with finding the right players for our team. Beavis who has coached recently in the Ontario Provincial League as well as the EJHL is well respected and has a great relationship with many teams and leagues throughout the hockey world is looking forward to the challenge of both putting forth a very good product and giving back to the community with his players. Coach Beavis and his family reside in Mexico, NY

The Chiefs will announce their tryout schedule dates and location as well as it's training camp schedule within the next few days. The Chief's season will start on November 1st at Danbury and their home opener will take place Friday November 7th against possible rival Brooklyn Aces at 7:30 pm at the Kennedy Arena in Rome, NY.
