Corpus Christi, TX - The Corpus Christi IceRays announced today that they have traded for the rights of R.G. Flath from the Amarillo Gorillas for future considerations.
Flath who was waived earlier last week by the Rapid City Rush, was claimed by Amarillo off waivers.
"I really wanted to pick up R.G. off waivers last week, but Amarillo claimed him before us. Needless to say, I immediately go on the phone with Amarillo to work a deal and bring him to Corpus" said head Coach Brent Hughes.
Flath played for Hughes in Austin during the 2007-2008 season where he tallied 19 goals and 17 assists in 47 games.
"R.G. is a good kid that would go through the wall for you" added Hughes.
The Park City, Utah native has already arrived in Corpus Christi, and had his first practice with the team on Thursday morning.
