Corpus Christi, TX - Corpus Christi IceRays General Manager Pat Dunn added two more players to the mix for the 2008-09 season with the signings of defenseman Mike Campaner and goaltender Bryce Luker.

Campaner, 25, will be entering his second professional season after playing his rookie campaign with the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL. In 67 games with Dayton, the Thunder Bay, Ontario native recorded five assists, 36 penalty minutes and was a team-high +2 during the regular season. The 5-8, 170-pound defenseman played his college hockey at Colgate University where in 137 career games he scored 10 goals with 52 assists.

"Mike is a great addition to our defensive core," said Dunn. "He has been highly touted by the scouts and has all the tools to excel at the pro hockey level."

Luker, 23, is a true rookie that is coming off two seasons with Canisius College Golden Griffins in Buffalo, New York. Prior to his time in Canisus, the Rigaud, Quebec native played a pair of seasons with Michigan Tech. He was recommended to the IceRays by Stephane Waite, the Chicago Blackhawks goaltending coach. He was drafted by the Quebec Remparts (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) but opted to go to college as opposed to playing junior hockey.

"We think Bryce could be a diamond in the ruff," said Dunn. "He has all the skills needed to be a solid professional goaltender and we are looking forward to having him in camp competing for a job."
