Corpus Christi, TX - The Corpus Christi IceRays have waived goaltender Kris Tebbs, IceRays General Manager/Senior VP, Pat Dunn announced Thursday. Tebbs was in his second season in Corpus Christi. The move comes after the club signed goaltender Kevin Nastiuk earlier in the week.
Nastiuk, 25, was originally signed to a five-game contract, allowing more than two goaltenders to be on the roster, and made his IceRays debut with a 27 save victory on Tuesday vs. Rio Grande Valley. Nastiuk is a former 4th rd. pick (#126 overall) of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2003 NHL Draft. He has 114 career games under his belt, including 23 in the AHL, spent with three clubs. Prior to joining the IceRays the Edmonton native amassed a career overall record of 53-37-16 with a 2.73 GAA and a.907 save percentage. The IceRays are the ninth team he's suited up for in his five-year career. He made 27 saves on 29 shots in a 3-2 victory on Tuesday.
Tebbs finished his IceRays tenure with a 26-22-7 record, a 3.07 GAA and a.905 save percentage. This year he was 2-2-2 in seven games played with a 3.69 GAA and a.882 save percentage.
