selected four players from their 3rd annual Pro Placement camp to
attend their October training camp.
The Pro Placement camp was held
this past weekend at the First Arena in Elmira, New York. 40 players
were on hand representing five different countries playing to earn a
spot at the Jackals training camp on October 3rd. The Jackals, along
with four other professional teams, had representatives on hand; Peter

Out
of the 40 players four players were invited to the Jackals training
camp. Obi Aduba, Jay Bletzer, Chase Tippin and Miroslav Recicar were
the chosen four to return to Elmira in early October. Obi Aduba, the
former University of Massachusetts forward, led the camp in scoring
with nine points. The 6'1'' 207 pound forward made his presence felt in
all three games. Defenseman Jay Bletzer played in 31 games last season
for Bentley College and now has a shot at playing pro hockey.
The 6'0'' 198 pounder scored two goals and added six assist for eight
points to go along with 10 minutes in penalties last year for the
Falcons. Playing a stay at home defensive style, Bletzer was a steady
play maker all weekend.
The toughness category was owned by
Canadian defenseman Chase Tippin. Last season Tippin racked up 148
minutes in penalties while netting 19 points in 45 games for the
Innisfil Lakers of the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League. Standing
6'4'' and weighing in at 240 pounds Chase proved he was not afraid to
act as an enforcer. The fourth player chosen was Slovakian goaltender
Miroslav Recicar. Recicar recorded an impressive 1.86 goals against
average and a 92% save percentage last season for HK Spisska Nova Ves
of Slovakia.
"The camp was represented with players from many
countries. The talent level varied and the four players we chose will
have to step up their level of play to compete at the ECHL Level." Said
Jackals General Manager Robbie Nichols.
Two games were played on
Saturday afternoon and evening with the championship game held on
Sunday morning. Jackals fans had their hockey craving cured for the
weekend while enjoying baked goods from the Jackals booster club.
"This
was a great weekend of hockey. Thank you to all the players and fans
for coming out and showing your support." Nichols added.
