Fayetteville, NC - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that the club has acquired forwards Rob Colangelo and Emery Olauson in two separate trades, with the Columbus Cottonmouths and Huntsville Havoc, respectively.
Colangelo, obtained via trade with the Columbus Cottonmouths for future considerations, played last season with the Jacksonville Barracudas. His rights were obtained by Columbus in the dispersal draft of former Jacksonville players. The 5'7'', 160-pound winger from Markham, Ontario totaled 20 goals, 28 assists and 48 points in 52 games with the Barracudas.
Olauson, acquired via trade with the Huntsville Havoc, also for future considerations, split time last season between the Havoc and the Odessa Jackalopes of the Central Hockey League (CHL). In 26 games with Huntsville, the 6'2'', 195-pound forward from Canmore, Ontario tallied 14 goals, 12 assists and 26 points.
"These were both great trades for the FireAntz' organization." Head Coach Tommy Stewart added, "Both Colangelo and Olauson are impact players and will be great assets to our hockey club."
