Fayetteville, NC - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that the club has re-signed forward Justin Keller. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Keller, a 6'0'', 195-pound left winger from Sturgis, Saskatchewan enters his second season with the club. Last season Keller was acquired via trade with the Huntsville Havoc in exchange for forward Edan Welch and defenseman Jordan Weibel (wai-bull).
In 21 games with the FireAntz, Keller totaled 13 goals, 12 assists and 25 points. Combined, he tallied 70 points on 30 goals and 40 assists in only 52 games. His 70 points was tied for fifth most in the SPHL with Dan Vandermeer of Richmond. Keller had the second most points of anyone on the FireAntz roster, trailing linemate Tim Velemirovich (vell-uh-meer-uh-vich) by only one point.
"Justin is one of the most prolific goal scorers in the SPHL." Head Coach Tommy Stewart said, "He has a knack for putting the puck in the net and we are expecting him to have a big year for us."
