Fayetteville, NC - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that the club has signed forward Ryan Ford. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ford, a 5'10, 190-pound forward from Cambridge, Ontario joins the FireAntz for his first year with the club. He comes to the club after playing his first year of professional hockey in Finland. In 28 games Ford tallied 23 goals, 40 assists and 63 points.
Ford also had a very accomplished junior career. In four seasons Ford compiled 89 goals and 136 assists for 225 points. He also won a championship in 2005-06 as well as leading his team in scoring in 2006-07.
"Ryan is a great skater and he's a very feisty player." Head Coach Tommy Stewart said, "He's also won championships. It's always great to bring in guys that have had success at other levels. He's a winner."
