Generals Add Toughness

Flint, MI - The Flint Generals, proud members of the IHL, announced Friday the addition of some much sought after toughness to the lineup. Forwards Luke Phillips and Mason Cossette and center Jan Prusa all signed with the Generals early Friday.

Phillips is a 5'8" 190 pound forward and playing in his sixth professional season, spending most of his career playing for the Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL (from the 2004-05 season through the 2006-07 season). In 139 games played for the Havoc, this Birken, BC native racked up 24 goals, 32 assists and 994 penalty minutes. His last season played was 2007-08 with the Knoxville Ice Bears, where in 31 games he tallied 2 goals, 4 assists.

Cossette, a native of Austin, Texas is in his third pro season. The 6'2" 185 pound forward spent the 2007-08 season in Little Current, ONT playing for the Manitoulin Islanders of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. The following season, Mason completed for the Battle Creek Revolution of the AAHA where in 28 games he scored 5 goals, 8 assists.

Born in Kladno, Czech Rep., Jan Prusa is a big 6'2" 220 pound center. He is in his third professional season of hockey, not having played since the 2005-06 season for the St. Georges CRS Express of the Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey (LNAH). Prior to playing professionally, Jan played one season of minor hockey and one season of senior armature. Before playing in North America, Prusa spent three seasons playing for the HC Karlovy Vary in the Extraliga U20 (CZE) league.
