Estero, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron today announced the team has signed forward Ryan Lang to a contract for the 2008-09 season.

Lang is the latest member to join the Everblades, becoming the 10th player to sign with the club, in what has been a very active off-season under Cameron. Lang returns to America after playing all of 2007-08 in Italy with Alleghe HC where he posted 12 points (6g, 6a) and 26 penalty minutes in 22 games.

Prior to heading overseas last year, the 28-year-old had his best pro season notching a combined 76 points between the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL and the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League. Lang spent the majority of the season with the Lynx, leading the team in scoring with 73 points (25g, 48a) in 61 games. His assist total also led the team. The Regina, Sask. native also saw action in seven AHL games with Providence where he tallied one goal and two assists.

Lang's efforts in 2006-07 earned him a spot on the 2007 American Conference All-Star team, which was co-coached by Cameron and former Everblades head coach Gerry Fleming. During the Skills Competition portion of the All-Star event, Lang won the fastest skater competition.

"We are extremely pleased to have Ryan join our club." Cameron said. "He's an extremely fast skater with good hands, he has a strong desire to win and he brings tremendous leadership qualities to the table. All of these were key ingredients for us to bring him to Florida."

Overall Lang has 154 points (57g, 97a) and 204 PIM in 207 career professional games with Charlotte (ECHL), Portland (AHL), Augusta, and Providence from 2004-2007.

Prior to turning pro, Lang competed at the collegiate level with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. Over his four-year collegiate career he totaled 67 points (28g, 39a) in 140 games from 2000-2004.
