Fort Wayne, IN - The IHL announced today that Nick Boucher has been named the Meijer IHL Goaltender of the Month for January, 2010.
Boucher, 29, appeared in six games posting a 3-1-0-0 record, allowing eight goals for a 1.71 goals-against average and stopping 163 of 171 shots for a.953 save percentage. The Leduc, Alberta native completed the month on a two-game win streak and has appeared in the last four straight games.
This is the first Goaltender of the Month award for Boucher this year after also collecting the Goaltender of the Week award for the week ending Nov. 1. Boucher, last year's IHL Goaltender of the Year, has been honored as the league's Goaltender of the Month four times and Goalie of the Week seven times since joining the Komets in 2007-08.
2009-10 is his third straight season with the Komets after capturing back-to-back IHL Turner Cup Championships. Boucher appeared in his 100th Fort Wayne career game during the month on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Port Huron.
