Canadiens Recall Desharnais, Trotter and White From Bulldogs

Montreal, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forwards David Desharnais, Brock Trotter and Ryan White have been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Desharnais, 23, played in one game with the Canadiens earlier this season but was held pointless. The 5-foot-7, 177-pound centre has skated in 37 games with the Bulldogs ranking second on the team in points with 48 (16 goals, 32 assists) while serving 24 penalty minutes. The native of Quebec City, Quebec signed as a free agent with Montreal on November 5, 2008.

Trotter, 22, currently leads the Bulldogs with 53 points (25 goals, 28 assists) and has served 36 penalty minutes in 49 games in 2009-2010. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound centre completed his first full professional season last year with Hamilton where he registered 49 points (18 goals, 31 assists) and 32 penalty minutes in 76 games. The native of Brandon, Manitoba was signed as a free agent by Montreal on July 2, 2008.

White, 21, has played in 14 games with the Canadiens this year earning two assists and 11 penalty minutes. In 37 games with the Bulldogs in 2009-2010, the Brandon, Manitoba native has earned 20 points (12 goals, eight assists) along with 95 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 193-pound centre was drafted by the Canadiens in the 3rd round, 66th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
