Kalamazoo, MI - The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announce forward Mathieu Curadeau has been named assistant captain.
Curadeau, who has been on the injured reserve since January 11th will return tonight for the K-Wings as they host the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. at Wings Stadium.
In his first season with the K-Wings, Curadeau came to Kalamazoo after spending the past two seasons in the International Hockey League with the Fort Wayne Komets. A two-time Turner Cup champion with Fort Wayne, Curadeau also earned praise from the league, by being named to the All-Rookie Team.
Mathieu’s talents have been noticed in the AHL, as the native of Montreal, Quebec has played in 19 games last season in the American Hockey League and has been loaned on two separate occasions this season to the AHL.
