When Stevenson comes to training camp, he will bring grit and 207 games of experiences with him. A 14-year pro, Stevenson last played in the NHL during the 2005-06 season when played for the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators.

"He (Stevenson) will be the elite power-forward in the IHL," said General Manager Wade Welsh. "His experience and presence on the ice will make him a valuable member to our top line."

Stevenson will return to North America after playing last season in Finland with the FalPa Kuopio.

In addition to his status as top line left-winger for the K-Wings, Stevenson will serve as Player Assistant Coach for first-year Head Coach Nick Bootland.

A former draft pick of the Winnipeg Jets (3rd round, 60th overall) in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft and of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks (11th round, 262 overall) in the 1994 draft, Stevenson played four seasons of Junior "A" hockey in the Ontario Hockey League with the Cornwall Royals, Newmarket Royals and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Besides being a member of the Stars and Predators, Stevenson has also seen action with the Mighty Ducks and Minnesota Wild. In his NHL tenure, the native of San Bernardino, California has been productive offensively and a physical presence on the ice.

Joining Stevenson with the K-Wings is defenseman John Glavota. Glavota, who played last season in Croatia, has been training with Stevenson this summer in preparations for the upcoming season.

Fans will remember Glavota for being a solid defenseman, who has battled against the K-Wings for five of his seven years pro.

"Glavota is an experienced defenseman that makes good decisions with the puck," said Welsh. "John keeps the game simple to the point you don't notice him on the ice and that is the sign of a good defenseman."

While a native of Canada, Glavota has played seven seasons with the Croatian National Team. Before turning pro, Glavota spent four years playing collegiate hockey at Laurentian University.
