Monarchs Sign Kidd

Manchester, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, signed defenseman Josh Kidd to a one-year contract, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Kidd, 19, appeared in nine games with the Monarchs during the 2007-08 season and collected one goal and three assists for four points and a plus/minus rating of plus-9. He played the last four season with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League and collected 50 points (18-32=50) and 229 penalty minutes in 232 games. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound native of Sundridge, Ontario, was named the Otters Best Defenseman at the 2007 Otters Summer Awards Banquet. Kidd was selected by the Kings in the seventh-round (184th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
