Winnipeg, MB - The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have signed forward Mark Derlago to an American Hockey League contract.

Derlago, 22, played in four games with the Moose after signing a PTO on March 18/08. In that time, he scored two goals and three assists for five points and two penalty minutes playing with leading scorer Brad Moran and Jannik Hansen. He scored his first goals in the AHL March 25/08 at Lake Erie. The Brandon, MB native also played in 68 games this regular season with the Condors where he lead the team with 39 goals. He also had 18 assists for 57 points and 65 penalty minutes. In six ECHL post-season games with Bakersfield this season, Derlago had two goals and four assists. In 271 caree r games with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, Derlago scored 112 goals and 95 assists for 207 points and 173 penalty minutes. Derlago missed the entire 2004-05 season after suffering a neck injury in 2004. He then came back to lead the WHL in goal scoring in 2006-07 with 46 goals and his 81 points finished 10th in the league in overall scoring.

During his final season with the Wheat Kings, Derlago was named the WHL club's Most Valuable Player as well as the 2007 recipient of the Manitoba Hydro Turk Broda Memorial Trophy as the hockey club's Top Manitoba Born Player.
