Southaven, MS - The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League today announced that goaltender Kevin Beech has been traded to the Corpus Christi IceRays for future considerations. Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin "Killer" Kaminski announced the trade this afternoon.
Beech, last year's CHL Most Outstanding Goaltender, has played in only 13 games this season, earning a 6-3-2 record, a 3.21 goals-against-average, and a save percentage of .875. He has not seen action since January 16th in a 5-4 loss at Missouri.
His playing time was hampered at the beginning of this season as he recovered from off-season surgery, which kept him shelved on the injured list until December 6th, when he saw his first action against Missouri.
Last year, Beech set a RiverKings single-season record with 35 victories, while capturing the league's post-season honors for goaltenders.
Beech is native of Brantford, Ontario, Canada and has played 95 professional games, with 89 in the Central Hockey League and 63 with the RiverKings.
