Muskegon, MI - The Muskegon Fury today announce the signing of veteran right wing Frank Littlejohn to a contract for the 2008-09 season.

"I'm extremely pleased we can add Frank Littlejohn to our team," Fury General Manager Tim Taylor said. "Frank and I have known each other for a few years, and we always talked about winning a championship together. Adding Frank is a big step to becoming a championship-caliber team."

Littlejohn played the past two seasons with the Elmira Jackals, last season in the East Coast Hockey League and the season before in the United Hockey League.

"A decision was made and it just didn't work out in Elmira," Littlejohn said. "Tim Taylor got wind of it, and Tim and I have been talking about it for a couple of years. I've played several years against Muskegon and thought I was coming here a couple times before, but now is the time for me to be here. I could be here a couple of years, and if it goes well, I might even finish up my career in Muskegon."

In his nine-year career, Littlejohn has played in 617 games, scoring 250 goals and adding 180 assists while tallying 2,030 penalty minutes. He has seen plenty of Muskegon, playing several years in the United Hockey League with Adirondack, Missouri, Quad City and Elmira.

"Just from being in the league and playing against Muskegon, it's a well-respected team that wins championships, and that's what I'm looking for," Littlejohn said. "You want to put yourself in a situation to win championships. With the players Tim Taylor and Bruce Ramsay are going to get in, it will be a great opportunity to win that championship and maybe finish up my career."

"Frank plays hard, whether he is scoring or dropping the gloves," Taylor said. "He's going to be a fan favorite with his physical style of play."

Littlejohn joins Todd Robinson and Kyle Kos as players signed to play for the Fury in 2008-09. Terms of Littlejohn's contract will not be released.

"The pieces are starting to come together," Taylor said. "Our goal is to bring a championship to this community, and we're definitely headed in the right direction."
