Moline, IL - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the team has signed goaltender Jerad Kaufmann. Per team policy, no contract terms were released.

Kaufmann, a 25-year old rookie, completed a four year collegiate career at Nebraska-Omaha last spring. The Roseville, Minnesota, native went 9-10-3 with a 2.31 goals against average and a.915 save percentage and one shutout in 22 games with UNO last season. Kaufmann made his professional debut on April 4 with the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors, stopping 32 shots in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Ontario Reign.

Over the course of his Maverick career, the 6' 3", 190-pound Kaufmann went 45-38-14 with a 2.84 goals against average, a.898 save percentage and four shutouts. In 2005-06 Kaufmann helped UNO to the first NCAA tournament berth in the school's history.

The Mallards waived goaltender D.J. Delbuono to open up a roster spot for Kaufmann. Delbuono made his first Mallards appearance last Saturday night in Muskegon, stopping both shots he faced in seven minutes of action in the third period of a loss to the Lumberjacks.
