Odessa, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes announced today that they have been assigned four players from their American Hockey
League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Defenseman Russ Moyer,
along with forwards Mike Lesperance, Jean Bourbeau and Marc Rechlicz,
will join the Jackalopes training camp later this week.
"The Odessa
players performed well in our camp," said Bridgeport head coach Jack
Capuano. "All four of them played in AHL exhibition games over the last
week and competed well. It will be interesting to watch their progress,
as well as others in Odessa, as the season goes along."
Moyer,
Lesperance, and Bourbeau signed with the Jackalopes earlier in the
summer then were extended AHL training camp invitations. Marc Rechlicz
(RECK-lish), a 6-4, 193-pound winger, will turn 20 years old in
November and is on an AHL contract. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native is
a rookie who last season played for Chicoutimi of the Quebec Major
Junior Hockey League.
"Our job with Marc is to try to
develop him," said Odessa head coach Paul Gillis. "He's a big kid who
likes the physical part of the game. He will be here to learn about the
pro game and hopefully we'll be able to move him up and on."
