Circelli Returns for '08-'09

Odessa, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes announced today that winger Collin Circelli will return to the team for the upcoming Central Hockey League season, and left wing Jonathan Labelle will join the team this year as well.

Circelli began his professional career last season with the Wichita Thunder (CHL) and the Jackalopes after playing at St. Francis Xavier University for five years. The Oshawa, Ontario, product scored 12 points (seven goals, five assists) last year between Wichita and Odessa in the regular season.

"(Collin) really came into his own in the playoffs last year, and we expect him to come back and fill a bigger role for us," said Jacks coach Paul Gillis. "He stepped up his offensive production and ended up being one of our best players at the end of last season."

In seven postseason games last year, Circelli scored five goals and added an assist.

Before attending St. Francis Xavier University, Circelli played two seasons in the QMJHL for the Moncton Wildcats, scoring 128 points in 135 games (45 goals, 83 assists).

Labelle spent the past four years playing at Brock University, scoring 41 goals and 46 assists in 88 career games while graduating as a Business Management major. Last year the St. Jerome, Quebec, native played in two games for the Victoria Salmon Kings of the East Coast Hockey League. Before attending Brock University, Labelle played five seasons in the QMJHL.

In his sophomore year at Brock, Labelle suffered a broken arm, limiting his action to just 10 games. The 5-11, 195 pound forward followed up the setback scoring 56 points (25 goals, 31 assists) in 54 games over his final two years.

"He's a young center that we've heard a lot of good things about," said Gillis. "He's a two-way player that will bring speed and size into our lineup."
