Odessa, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes announced today that forward Mike MacDonald will return for the 2008-2009 Central Hockey League season. The club also added goaltender Kevin Druce to next year's roster.

MacDonald began his professional career last year with the Jackalopes, appearing in 63 games and scoring 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists).

"(MacDonald) had a great year for us last season," said Jacks head coach Paul Gillis. "He was tremendous for us down the stretch and in the playoffs. He's a good penalty killer who just works his tail off when he's on the ice."

Before joining the CHL, MacDonald played four years of college hockey at SUNY-Geneseo. During his collegiate career, the New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, native appeared in 109 games, scoring 61 goals and 59 assists for 120 points.

"I'm glad to be back for another year," said MacDonald. "Hopefully we can build on what we started last season and go a little further this year."

Druce began his professional career last season in the Southern Professional Hockey League with the Twin City Cyclones. The Kingston, Ontario, product appeared in 28 games last year, sporting a 3.86 goals against average.

"Kevin is a young goalie who had a good junior career," said Gillis. "We're excited to bring him in here and get a first hand look at what he can do in net."
