Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs  of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Kevin Harvey.

Harvey (6'2"/196), who hails from Hamilton, Ontario and will turn twenty-four in September, is entering his third pro season. For the past two years, he has played for the New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League, where he has scored thirteen goals and assisted on sixteen others (twenty-nine points) in 109 total regular season games. He has also racked up 482 penalty minutes over that time period.

In his rookie campaign, Harvey, who was a ninth round pick of the Calgary Flames  in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, led the CHL with twenty-six major penalties and was third amongst first year players in the league with 226 penalty minutes. Last season, Harvey, who is the younger brother former NHL winger Todd Harvey, led the Scorpions for the second consecutive year with 256 PIMs in fifty-one games, which placed him fifth in the league in that category.
