Richmond, VA - The Richmond Renegades today announced that defenseman RC LYKE had agreed to terms and would be back on the blue line for the team next season. Lyke is also the player/assistant coach for the Renegades.

Lyke played all 52 regular season games with the Renegades in 2007-08 recording 3 goals and 14 assists. He was a minus 4 and had been tagged with 68 penalty minutes. In the playoffs he recorded one assist and was plus one. RC also had 2 power play goals and 2 power play assists and scored one short handed goal. Lyke will take the second of three veteran slots.

The first forward returning for the Renegades is JUSTIN JOY, a feisty and scrappy utility player despite his 5'8" and 190# size. Joy was a pleasant surprise for the Renegades in his rookie season appearing in 51 regular season games. His 32 points were the result of 14 goals and 18 assists. Along with his 65 penalty minutes, Joy was a plus 2 on the score sheet. His stats included 3 power play goals, two power play assists and 2 game winning goals. He was 5th on the active roster for team scoring. He had one goal and one assist in the 2 playoff games.

"RC adds more stability to our blue line and like our first vet Vandy, he's great working with the younger players," stated Renegades second year head coach, BRIAN GOUDIE. "Joy is a really hard worker; the kind of player who never stops whenever he's on the ice. He will do whatever it takes to get the job done and has earned his place as a Renegades player."
