“We are excited to have Rob back with our team for a third season,” said Killer Bees Assistant Coach Sean Gillam. “His work ethic, grit and leadership qualities are second to none.”

Voltera, who turned 30 on May 24, served as team captain and appeared in 63 games for the Killer Bees last season. He finished second in team scoring with 57 points (27-30-57) and was one of three Bees to reach the 20-goal plateau. He finished as the team leader in goals (27), power play goals (12) and was tied for the team lead with three short-handed goals.

In two seasons with the Killer Bees, Voltera has seen action in 112 regular season games and produced almost a point per game (49-61-110). He appeared in his 500th pro game Feb. 9, 2008, at Wichita.

Voltera began his pro career in Germany following a four-year junior career in the Western Hockey League. He returned to North America with the BC (N.Y.) Icemen of the United Hockey League. From there, he saw time with the Springfield Falcons (AHL), San Diego Gulls (WCHL), Hershey Bears (AHL), Quad City Mallards (UHL), Victoria Salmon Kings (ECHL) and Rockford IceHogs (UHL). He played for Fixter as a member of the Hershey Bears from 2002 to 2004.
