Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have re-signed left wing Jon Mirasty to an American Hockey League contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Mirasty, 26, appeared in 55 games for the Crunch last season, notching 1 goal, 2 assists and 181 penalty minutes. After spending three seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with Prince Albert, Tri-City and Moose Jaw, Mirasty moved on to the professional ranks, appearing in 184 combined games with Bakersfield (ECHL), Greenville (ECHL), Sorel-Tracy (LNAH) and Danbury (UHL) from 2001-07, tallying 9 goals, 23 assists and 1,406 penalty minutes.
A native of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Mirasty was signed by Syracuse to a professional try-out contract on October 3, 2007. He was later signed by Syracuse to an AHL contract on December 6, 2007.
