Cyclones Add to Blueline and Netminding with Dispersal Draft

Winston-Salem, NC - Mark Richards, General Manager and Head Coach of the Twin City Cyclones, announced Monday the addition of three players from the Jacksonville Barracudas' dispersal draft which occured earlier Monday afternoon. The Jacksonville Barracudas requested a one-year suspension of operations for the 2008-09 season and the League (SPHL) completed a dispersal draft on Monday afternoon. Twin City acquired defensemen Chad Swartzentruber and Shane Wagner, along with goaltender Ryan Person.

Swartzentruber, the twenty-two year old from Baden, Ontario split last season between the Columbus Cottonmouths and Jacksonville. The 6'-2", 190lb. blueliner finished the season with the Barracudas, posting 24 points and 21 penalty minutes.

Wagner played college hockey in the NCAA with Hamline University for four seasons. The Stillwater, Minnesota native has also spent time in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) with the South Carolina Stingrays. The 6'-0", 190lb. defenseman completed two full seasons with the Barracudas for a combined 108 games, 48 points, and 103 penalty minutes.

Person, the twenty-nine year old netminder from Winnipeg, Manitoba, has spent time in the ECHL and the now defunct United Hockey League (UHL). Person completed two seasons in Jacksonville where he had a 3.82 goals against average for the 2006-07 season, and 3.65 for this past season. The 6'-1", 200lb. goaltender recorded a .808 save percentage during the 2007-08 SPHL Playoffs.
