Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that the organization has re-signed center Chris St. Jacques.
The 2008-09 season will be the 25-year-olds second with the Salmon Kings. St. Jacques came to Victoria via a waiver claim from the Stockton Thunder in October of 2007.
The Edmonton, AB native played in 51 games for the Salmon Kings last season accruing 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points. In 11 playoff contests he tallied 5 points (2g3a). The fifth year pro has played 247 games in the AHL and ECHL.
"Chris provides us with a natural centerman who is offensively talented," General Manager and Head Coach Mark Morrison said. "He also brings a physical element to the game by consistently playing with an edge."
The 5-foot-8, 181-pound St. played five seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL before beginning his pro career.
