Nailers Sign A Pair of RPI Teammates

Wheeling, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the proud affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have signed forwards Andrew Lord and Jonathan Ornelas, it was announced today by the team. As per club policy, no further terms were disclosed.

Lord, 23, a native of West Vancouver, British Columbia, scored 17 points (6 goals, 10 assists) in 37 games last season while playing for R.P.I in the NCAA. The 6-3 200 pound forward also posted 57 penalty minutes in 2007-08.

"Andrew brings us good size up the middle, which we lacked most of last year," said Nailers team president Jim Brooks.

Ornelas, 22, a native of Mississauga, Ontario, scored 17 points (9 goals, 8 assists) in 37 games last season while playing for R.P.I in the NCAA. The 5-9 175 pound forward also posted 22 penalty minutes in 2007-08.

"Jon is a gritty player that we feel should be able to contribute with his skill and speed," said Nailers head coach Greg Puhalski.
