This makes so much sense.....for the Franke family needs to provide better entertainment and Competition for its dedicated fan base in Fort Wayne. The ECHL needs to significantly lower their expansion fee. A 14 team league furtherst drive is 9 hours, but a lot of the teams are centrally located! It would be fantastic rivalry's

Then the IHL would have to raise ticket prices since the ECHL is a union league with benefits that players in the IHL don't get.

The title of this thread is extremely misleading. It creates the impression the two leagues have agreed to merge. It needs to be changed.

Yeah, but our salary cap is lower. It's probably a zero sum gain either way.

It makes perfect sense to us but not to the people that shell out the big bucks to put the team on the ice.

IF this were to ever happen, a lot of things would change for both leagues.
That's why it probly will never happen!
