Congrats to Pensacola and their new SPHL team. I'm told the lease has been agreed to and the new coach will be Todd Gordon.

Tod Gordon..rings of Fayetteville Force Hockey....he will keep his team on an even keel...no late nites out drinking before a game....hummmmmm, what a concept...stay sober, get some sleep and rest up before game day.....
Bet they won't hang around .500 and the bottom of the standings....

Todd likes his beer in Pensacola. He was seen and heard either on the bench or in the tunnel right before the 3rd perior one (can't remmeber which) ordering beer to be delivered to the locker room for a post game celebration.
Gordo is a turn off for a part of the fan base who didn't like his style. He used the same old cliches every loss in the post game interviews, he seemed to have his team do just enough to make the playoffs (I'm sure Columbus fans will remember the battles for the last playoff spot and how Gordo's teams usually had to rely on someone to lose so they could back into the playoffs).
Gordo will be working for his current employer as is rumored that Ted Ciano (owns car dealerships in Pensacola) will be part owner with Kerr. Since the end of the 04-05 season, Gordo has been working as a car salesman for him.
I usually like hands-off owners because they usually know nothing about hockey but with Kerr I wouldn't mind one bit offering advice/acting as GM. Maybe he'll hire a decent GM as well.
Now if the lease is done, we have to wait to see if there will be a special Commissioners meeting to vote on it or if we'll have to wait for the 5/7 one.

Gordo's record (all at the AA level): 227-218-53 for a win percentage of .509
He's had two teams (out of 7) miss the playoffs with win percentages of .364 (6th of 6 in their division) and .403 (5th of 6 in their division, 29 points out of the 4th playoff spot). However, without those two seasons his winpercentage goes up to .559.

VS, who is your source? I ask only because when I posted this over on The Five Hole, they told me the two parties haven't even met yet. The first meeting on the lease is tomorrow.
