which definitely belongs in the rumors forum.

I'm wondering which will happen first....some kind of announcement from QC, or some kind of announcement from the up-and-coming Flint organization in the IHL.

You know....the one that has no coach, no announced ownership, no players....and July 1st just around the corner.

Any takers??

Just had another thought. How funny would it be if QC announced they were in the IHL before Wednesday and were further along than Flint??! :lmao:

Funny isn't the word I'd be using.

Sad, perhaps. Lamentable is another good one. Oh, how about tragic?

The county Flint is in has a 16.5% unemployment rate, so it shouldn't be hard for them to find a new staff.

Flint should have news monday or Tuesday...Quad city has paid their entry fee to the IHL and now is working on the lease.

True, but they'll have a Hell of a time finding customers who can spend money on tickets. Seems to me Flint's problems are going to get worse before they get any better.

After 2 or 3 years of players not always getting paid (or getting travel expenses), I'm kinda wondering who they're going to find to move that puck around on the ice.....

And with a July start, I'm sure there will be top-notch players just clamoring to sign on.

Last year was the only season that Flint has troubles paying players

I think all you need is one year of pulling that crap with players and they'll avoid your team like The Plague in future seasons...which means you're left filling roster spots with the other teams' backwash.

I agree...but a new ownership group with some big money should help. it will take some time.

i was just pointing out another of Quacky's lies

I hope you're right. Ever since seeing the movie "Roger and Me" a few years ago, I've developed a soft spot for Flint. The city has had nothing but bad luck for decades.

Is there a new ownership group with big money ready to move in, or is this just another IHL pipe dream?

Sorry....I was wrong. I had Flint confused with Muskegon and Bloomington. Those were the teams that encountered financial difficulty during Year 1. Flint was Year 2.....

Excuse me, but isn't this the same thing that was said (http://www.intotheboards.net/vbforums/showthread.php?t=529) when Perani took over?

And said more than once? (http://www.intotheboards.net/vbforums/showthread.php?t=895)

Just sayin'.....

There really is no excuse for someone like you...but i will respond to your comment.

The new ownership group in Flint has a proven track record. Even heard that they have a proven GM and have a coach already having commitments from players. News should come out before WED about Flint returning and QC joining the league. Heard they are doing scheduling at that time.

Hope it works for them.

Any QC announcement has to come out before Wednesday.... (http://www.quadcitiessports.com/old/hockey.php)

This deposit will be used towards season tickets for a new team and if no team is secured, your deposit will be refunded in full by July 1, 2009.

I don't know about that. Flint has already lined up several freeway underpasses along I-475 where their players will be housed for next season. QC probably doesn't even have player housing contracted out yet.

Yes, but QCSV didn't get money from area "charaties" who will be "funraising" to send us hockey fans "Quack To The Future!"

QCSV apparently did pay for a word processing program with spell-check capabilities.
