I don't understand your question. Are you saying you heard a rumor that Stauffacher is going to play for Ft. Wayne?

Then are you saying a player is providing Hockey Mayhem with info...and you're asking which player we think is providing info to them?

On Hockey Mayhems twitter acct. it suggests that Stauff is going to FW.

I am interested in who the "source" is for Hockey Mayhem... They seem to have the upperhand in all the breaking news. A source like that could be a player, no?

I don't go to Hockey Mayhem and I don't "twitter" ... but I suppose their "source" could be a player. If that is the case and if he is exposed, he could be in trouble with his team (I hope).

P.S. He's got a nice personality too. ;-)

I hope it's true. In a Muskegon uniform that guy was a pain in the ass. Fort Wayne could definitely use him; he would be like Scott Gruhl V2.0.

I am with silvershoes and Bucky B, who cares who the source is. I have enjoyed reading the Twitter account, they have been getting really good information that is pretty accurate. I hope the "source" and Hockey Mayhem continue to share it with everyone. Who doesn't love reading juicy info and rumors? I live for that kind of stuff. Its just another thing that makes following minor league hockey fun!

I also hope that he goes to Fort Wayne as well, I think they could really use hm right now. I think he is fun to watch and have been a fan of him since he joined the league years ago.

I hope this is true also and I think it has a really good chance because that guy has a solid track record as far as breaking stories early. Stauffacher would be a nice boost to the Komets offense, plus like others mentioned he is a pain in the you know what to play against. A lot of rumors in Komet land and I think more moves are coming.

If true, this would be a great signing!

Stauffacher and Chewy played together in Quad City, those two would be great to watch again playing together! :yahoo:

How exactly could FW have any idea that Stauf would sign with them with Muskegon still holding his rights?

Isn't it illegal for a team to talk to a guy who's rights they don't own??!

(Or don't we have to worry about details like that in this situation??!)

I really hope this happens, he is an excellent goal scorer at this level which the Komets really need! If this does happen, he is just one of many little pests the Komets...now bring in a BIG PEST!

Yep.

Well, it is in "real" leagues. Not sure what the rules are in this league, or if they would even get enforced. Here's the NFL's definition of tampering (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-tampering022609&prov=yhoo&type=lgns):

The term tampering, as used within the National Football League, refers to any interference by a member club with the employer-employee relationship of another club or any attempt by a club to impermissibly induce a person to seek employment with that club or with the NFL.

My feelings exactly! Wish we had them both back here in the Quad Cities again..............Where are all the 'past' Mallard players we were promised when our new team came off the drawing board? Don't see even one.

According to david Franke the Komets have not talked to Stauff. So I would'nt worry about the details if I were you.

I asked Komets general manager David Franke about this, and he said the team has had no contact with Stauffacher because his rights belong to the Lumberjacks for a couple more weeks and it would be tampering for them to have communication with Stauffacher until then.
