Rumors are flying the last few days that Evansville, Battle Creek, Chi-town from the AAHL will join the FHL with Jamestown also joining the FHL. Just rumors, but from a good source. Time will tell.

This would be great for the fans, but I remain concerned about travel costs for a Jamestown team.

Hope it works out.

Jamestown is a near certainty for the FHL right now. Really looks like its just a matter of time. As a Danbury STH already of course I'd love to see more than 4 teams in the league but I don't want too much expansion too soon. 6-8 teams would be perfect IMO

So I take it this league is the same level as the AAHL.

That's also what I am hearing. Also that Ottawa is gone, which is fine for all involved, especially Jamestown, Rome and Danbury.

So it looks like Jamestown, Rome, Thousand Islands, and Danbury in the east and Evansville, Chi-town, Battle Creek and another to be determined (rumored to be Louisville) in the West

The only trouble is that there are a lot of hockey already in this footprint, and good hockey. I think the best bet would be moving west. Leave the AAHL its a young mans beer league, I mean look at Chi-town Darren Seid is their coach. The AAHL needs to stick around only cause it is suck a joke, and we all need a pick me up from time to time.
But Single A works in the SPHL because the they actually have locations that are large enough to have a fan base and fill a decent sized rink, without higher caliber hockey within a reasonable drive. the FHL should move out of the traditional minor footprint in the northeast and move out west.

Ottawa as i have said there issue is there is to many teams in the city.Don't assume that means there will not be any teams in eastern ontario it looks like cornwall is possible which is a short trip to ottawa.
