Is it just me, or is it strange that the very TV station supposedly reporting has nothing reported on their website?

Have it from reliable sources that it indeed was on TV last night, but no linkable source as of yet. The Bilo Center board is supposed to meet Monday to approve a lease for next season.
I would imagine this thread will vaporize unless a link can be provide pronto. Still looking.
If it's true.... great news for Greenville and the South Division, but crappy news for Johnstown folks.

I really hope this isn't true. From talking to the front office and from the owner he said that the Chiefs were going to be here next year and we were working on a 3-5 year lease with SMG. Why would Neil get a major partnership with SMG and already have corporate sponsors for next year if we were going to move?

Because if they didn't get a lease somewhere else and they sold no sponsorships in Jtown, they would have to fold and lose the franchise as an asset entirely.

....Well theres nothing being said officially here but I would imagine when the team returns home for a game here Sunday, the Chiefs beat writer SHOULD have presented the question of this rumor to Mr Smith himself who would be getting off the team bus from Cincy.

Well, on another post it is being stated that the Charlotte ECHL franchise is being sold/moved to San Diego - thus, for the Charlotte AHL franchise to have a city close enough for their players to be sent Greenville, SC would make sense.
At least my sister lives in greenville, so I will get to see games when I make it back to the States for a visit.
Knew it was coming for Johnstown - a good run for a great little city.
