It was reported on the 11:00 news (following the opening ceremonies from Vancouver) that the Greenville Arena Board will be holding a meeting on Monday to decide whether or not to allow hockey at the Bi-Lo Center in October. The team that was mentioned in the report was the Johnstown Chiefs. Unfortunately, WYFF does not have an article posted on their website.

I saw this as well, soooo glad that hockey will (at least it looks that way) be returning to Greenville. There have been rumors floating around The Pavilion rink where I play in an adult league for a while now that hockey would be coming back. Nobody was sure if it would be the SPHL or ECHL, frankly, the Bi-Lo Center was built for an ECHL team and as a past season tickey holder to the Grrrowl I'm glad it's the ECHL. Already planning what season seats I will get!

Good for Greenville - my sister lives there and it is a great city. I know her and her husband will go to some games. Went to an Indoor Football game when I was back last Spring.
Wonder if they will be the farm team for Carolina/Charlotte?
